Overview

• FAECYS and the main employer chambers agreed to transfer the 2025 observance from September 26 to Monday, September 29.
• Supermarkets, shopping centers and large retail chains will shut for 24 hours on the new date.
• Owner‑operated neighborhood shops are expected to open as usual.
• Covered employees may choose not to work with normal pay or work that day with a 100% surcharge under the Ley de Contrato de Trabajo.
• The agreement was submitted for homologation and later publication in the Boletín Oficial, with CAC, CAME and UDECA among the signatories.
