Overview
- The Land Transport Authority cleared ComfortDelGro to run public-road trials of autonomous shuttles in Punggol after the vehicles passed CETRAN’s Milestone One tests.
- The pilot will start in early 2026 with five five-seater shuttles supplied by Pony.ai.
- Rides are planned to be bookable in the CDG Zig app under a “Zig Driverless” option once the public trials begin.
- ComfortDelGro’s route will run in north-east Punggol over a 12 km loop with seven stops, including Punggol Plaza, One Punggol, Punggol Coast Bus Interchange and Oasis Terraces.
- LTA has slated Punggol’s first AV shuttle services to open by Q2 2026 with Grab operating two WeRide routes and preparing onboard safety operators, as Singapore targets 100 to 150 AVs by end-2026.
