Rachael 'Raygun' Gunn and comedian Stephanie Broadbridge reached an agreement allowing the musical to proceed under a new name and branding.
The original show, 'Raygun: The Musical,' was canceled after Gunn's legal team raised concerns about unauthorized use of her name, image, and choreography.
Broadbridge has renamed the production 'Breaking: The Musical,' marketed as an 'unauthorized but completely legal parody' of an Olympian's journey to the Paris Olympics.
Gunn clarified that her legal actions were not financially motivated and stated her team had not sought reimbursement of legal costs from Broadbridge or the comedy club involved.
The rebranded musical is scheduled to debut at the Adelaide Fringe in early 2025, followed by performances in Melbourne and Sydney.
