Overview

• The designations allow both defenders to practice immediately and be activated from injured reserve at any point over the next three weeks.
• The earliest Ward can be activated is Week 12 against the Chiefs due to the NFL requirement to miss four games and the Colts’ Week 11 bye.
• Ward was placed on IR after an Oct. 19 concussion in pregame warmups, his second of the season following a Week 1 concussion that cost him Week 2.
• Carlies went on IR at roster cut-down with an ankle injury and returns to practice eligibility as Germaine Pratt has started the last five games at Will linebacker.
• If Ward is cleared and activated, it would mark the first opportunity to deploy a secondary of Ward, Kenny Moore II and Sauce Gardner with Cam Bynum and Nick Cross at safety.
