Tyler Goodson, a running back for the Indianapolis Colts, dropped a critical fourth-down pass in the final moments of a game against the Houston Texans, eliminating the Colts from playoff contention.
The decisive play occurred with 1:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, on fourth-and-1 with the ball on Houston’s 15-yard-line.
Despite the presence of Jonathan Taylor, one of the best running backs in the game, Colts' head coach Shane Steichen opted for a pass to Goodson, who had only six receptions on the season.
Goodson was open on the play, but the pass from quarterback Gardner Minshew was slightly behind him and he couldn't make the catch.
Goodson took responsibility for the play, stating that he felt like a failure but vowing to come back stronger next season.
