Overview

  • Officials designated the One Ear pack in Jackson County, the King Mountain pack in Routt County and the Three Creeks pack in Rio Blanco County after this spring’s litters.
  • Game‐camera footage from June 21 captured at least four pups playing at the King Mountain den site, marking a critical step in the restoration program.
  • The state released 10 wolves in December 2023 and 15 in January 2025 under a voter‐approved reintroduction plan enacted in 2020.
  • Commissioners voted to pay two Grand County ranches a combined $197,712 for missing calves, decreased conception rates and one confirmed wolf kill.
  • Ranching groups continue to press for faster deployment of nonlethal deterrents such as range riders and fladry fencing to reduce further conflicts.
