Colorado Man Sentenced to 22 Years for Kidnapping Worker at Michael Bloomberg's Ranch

Joseph Beecher, 51, was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for kidnapping, carjacking, and firearms charges related to a February 2022 incident.
Beecher broke into his former employer's home in Colorado, stole firearms, and drove to Michael Bloomberg's ranch intending to kill the billionaire, but Bloomberg was not present.
At the ranch, Beecher abducted a housekeeper at gunpoint and forced her to drive him to multiple locations, allegedly seeking another media figure as a target.
The victim was rescued unharmed by a SWAT team at a motel in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where Beecher was arrested the day after the kidnapping.
Beecher, who represented himself during his trial, was also ordered to pay restitution and will face five years of supervised release after his prison term.
