Colorado Developer Boris Mannsfeld Killed in Suspected Targeted Attack in Belize

Police investigate possible links to prior murders of associates and ongoing legal disputes involving the real estate developer.

Boris Mannsfeld, 56, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the back of the neck at his luxury development, Cocoplum Villas, in Belize on February 21, 2025.
Belize Police Commissioner Chester Williams described the killing as having 'all indications of a hit' and noted Mannsfeld had just returned to the country that day.
Authorities are investigating potential connections between Mannsfeld's murder and the unsolved killings of two of his former associates, Ricardo Borja and Darren Taylor, in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
A suspect, Frik De Meyere, a former employee and associate of Mannsfeld, has been detained for questioning but has not been charged.
