Colorado Avalanche Captain Gabriel Landeskog to Miss Entire 2023-24 Season Due to Knee Surgery

Landeskog will undergo a cartilage transplant in his right knee on May 10, performed by Dr. Brian Cole at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Landeskog missed the entire 2022-23 season after having arthroscopic knee surgery in October 2022.
The surgery stems from a knee injury Landeskog sustained in a playoff game in September 2020 when he was cut by a teammate's skate.
The Avalanche will place Landeskog on long-term injured reserve to gain salary cap relief during his absence.
The Avalanche face the challenge of replacing Landeskog's offensive production, leadership, and physicality during his extended recovery.
