Colombian Cartel Liaison Jailed for £42m Yorkshire Cocaine Plot

Undercover surveillance of a small-boat landing led officers to a hire van holding 524kg of cocaine.

Overview

  • Didier Tordecilla Reyes, 40, was sentenced to 13.5 years at Hull Crown Court after admitting conspiracy to import cocaine.
  • NCA officers seized 524kg of cocaine valued at about £42 million from a hire van outside a hotel in East Yorkshire in May 2024.
  • Reyes acted as a go-between with Colombian cartels and helped bring the load ashore using a RHIB from the Hessle slipway to Easington beach.
  • Co-defendants Mark Moran and Daniel Livingstone were jailed in December 2024 for 15 years and seven years nine months respectively, while hired skipper Anthony McAllister was acquitted.
  • The NCA, supported by Humberside Police and Border Force, observed the beach unloading, tracked vehicles and communications, and says the sentencing completes the principal prosecutions in the case.
