Overview
- Police will deploy more than 1,000 officers from early morning at hotspots including the Old Town and the Zülpicher Straße area, with targeted checks on people and bags.
- A street-level ban on knives, weapons and realistic replicas will be enforced, with violations risking criminal complaints and fines of up to €10,000.
- The Kwartier Latäng will use fixed entry points and capacity limits, and a temporary glass ban runs from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. across large parts of the center and the student district.
- A central command at Stadthaus Deutz will coordinate police, fire and rescue services, waste management and transport operators throughout the event.
- About 450 city enforcement staff and roughly 1,200 private security workers will support operations, with medical posts, a temporary treatment center, youth office help desks, streetworkers and the EDELGARD mobile assistance project in place.
