Colman Domingo Cast as Game Show Host in Edgar Wright's 'The Running Man'

The adaptation of Stephen King's dystopian novel will star Glen Powell and is set for a November 2025 release.

Colman Domingo will play the host of 'The Running Man,' a deadly game show central to the story, a role originally portrayed by Richard Dawson in the 1987 adaptation.
The film, directed by Edgar Wright, is described as a more faithful adaptation of Stephen King's 1982 novel, written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.
Glen Powell will star as Ben Richards, a desperate man competing in a violent reality game show to save his gravely ill daughter.
The cast also includes Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, and Karl Glusman, with Brolin reportedly playing a prominent villainous role as a TV executive.
The movie is scheduled for release on November 7, 2025, with Wright co-writing the script alongside Michael Bacall.
