Overview

  • On July 10 a two-car head-on crash outside Blythe Bridge High School injured a woman who was treated on site and led to Cheadle Road remaining closed.
  • Earlier that morning, a man fell from height at a business on Etruscan Street and was rescued by fire crews before being taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
  • A major overnight blaze on Pleydell Street in Sneyd Green sent fireballs into the air and has kept Staffordshire Fire and Rescue teams on scene into the following day.
  • Staffordshire Police have launched inquiries into the collision and the fire while safety assessments are under way at all three incident locations.
  • Record low rainfall since March has elevated fire danger and led to water-use restrictions as agencies warn of further wildfire hazards.
