Colin Strickland Testifies in Kaitlin Armstrong Trial Over Murder of Fellow Cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson

Key witness testifies about turbulent relationship with accused, outlines behavioral patterns of jealousy and monitoring; prosecution presents chilling audio evidence of murder caught on neighbour's doorbell camera.

  • Colin Strickland, ex-boyfriend of the accused Kaitlin Armstrong, testified about their tumultuous relationship, describing Armstrong as a jealous and passive-aggressive girlfriend. He claimed that she managed his career, giving her access to his social media and bank accounts.
  • According to Strickland's testimony, Armstrong had a history of jealousy not just towards the victim, Anna Moriah Wilson, but also other women Strickland interacted with. During her relationship with Strickland, Armstrong allegedly monitored his electronic devices and social media accounts.
  • On the day of Wilson's death, Strickland met her for a swim which he hid from Armstrong. After this meeting, and in Strickland's absence, prosecutors allege Armstrong ambushed Wilson and killed her, with a murder caught on a neighbor's doorbell camera.
  • Armstrong is accused of shooting Wilson twice in the head and a third bullet in her heart. Prosecutors claim that Armstrong's jeep was seen in CCTV footage outside the house where the murder occurred.
  • Following the murder, Armstrong sold her car, fled to Costa Rica using her sister's passport and underwent plastic surgery. She was captured after 43 days on the run.
  • Defence for Armstrong has argued that there is no concrete evidence tying her to the murder and asserts Armstrong is caught up in a 'circumstantial evidence' nightmare. Armstrong has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
