Colin Farrell in Talks for Lead Role in DC Studios' 'Sgt. Rock' Movie

The World War II-set film, directed by Luca Guadagnino, is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's reimagined DC Universe and is expected to begin filming this summer.

Colin Farrell is negotiating to play Sgt. Franklin John Rock, a World War II hero leading Easy Company, in a DC Studios film directed by Luca Guadagnino.
The movie, based on the classic DC Comics character created in 1959, will feature a script written by Guadagnino collaborator Justin Kuritzkes.
Filming is expected to begin in the summer of 2025 in the United Kingdom, pending Farrell's confirmation for the role.
Daniel Craig was previously linked to the project but exited earlier this year without officially committing to the role.
Farrell’s portrayal of Sgt. Rock will exist in a separate DC continuity from his acclaimed role as the Penguin in Matt Reeves’ Batman universe.
