Coldplay Covers The Proclaimers’ ‘Sunshine on Leith’ with Laura Mvula for BBC Performance

The band delivered a heartfelt rendition of the 1988 track during Radio 2’s Piano Room series, alongside songs from their latest album, 'Moon Music.'

Coldplay performed a stripped-back version of 'Sunshine on Leith,' a 1988 track by The Proclaimers, during BBC Radio 2's Piano Room series on February 3, 2025.
The performance featured British musician Laura Mvula, who previously joined the band at their 2024 Glastonbury headline set.
The setlist also included Coldplay classics like 'Viva La Vida' and 'Paradise,' as well as tracks from their 2024 album 'Moon Music,' including 'The Karate Kid' and 'All My Love.'
Chris Martin shared that he first heard 'Sunshine on Leith' three days prior, after bassist Guy Berryman introduced him to the song, which he found deeply moving.
The band is set to embark on a record-breaking 10-night residency at Wembley Stadium this summer as part of their 'Music of the Spheres' tour.
