- The India Meteorological Department issued red, orange and yellow cold-wave alerts for 11 Rajasthan districts as temperatures dipped and dense fog persisted.
- Rajasthan district authorities extended holidays or shifted hours, with Jaipur and Sikar schools shut through January 14 and several districts imposing class-wise suspensions.
- Ajmer and the Jodhpur Division ordered all schools to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while multiple districts such as Nagaur, Dausa, Jhunjhunu and Jalore set closures for lower grades through January 12–14.
- In Ranchi, the district magistrate suspended classes for KG to Class 6 from January 12 to 14 and directed Classes 7 to 12 to begin at 10:00 a.m. under a formal order.
- Noida extended holidays to January 15 for schools up to Class 8, with officials citing student safety due to severe cold and travel hazards in dense fog.
