Overview
- Mexico’s SMN/Conagua warns Monday of minimums from −5 to 0 °C in mountainous areas of Baja California, Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Veracruz, with 0 to 5 °C in additional central and northern ranges including Mexico City.
- The front drives a very strong Norte with gusts of 70–90 km/h and 2–3 m seas on the Tamaulipas and Veracruz coasts and across the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec, prompting marine and coastal risk advisories.
- Very strong rain of 50–75 mm is forecast for parts of Veracruz and Oaxaca, with 25–50 mm in areas of Puebla, Tabasco and Chiapas, and scattered showers across the southeast and Yucatán Peninsula.
- Argentina’s SMN issues yellow alerts for Monday night storms in the south and west of Buenos Aires Province, the south of Córdoba, the east and north of La Pampa, San Luis and the northeast of Mendoza, with 15–45 mm of rain, gusts up to 70–90 km/h, frequent lightning and possible hail.
- Separate yellow alerts continue in Tierra del Fuego and southern Santa Cruz for westerly winds of 40–60 km/h with gusts over 90 km/h and snowfall in Tierra del Fuego with accumulations of roughly 20–30 cm; Mar del Plata also faces a Monday storm alert.
