Overview

  • On Saturday around 14:40 local time, six to ten vehicles in a wedding party drove side by side on the A95 between Munich-Fürstenried and the Starnberg junction en route to a celebration in Egling.
  • The lead car, driven by a 24-year-old Spanish man from North Rhine-Westphalia, used hazard lights to force following vehicles to 50–60 km/h, creating an artificial jam stretching about three kilometers.
  • One passenger waved a red Moroccan flag from a window while another filmed the procession, prompting eyewitnesses to alert Verkehrspolizeiinspektion Weilheim.
  • Officers diverted and stopped the convoy at the Schäftlarn exit, seized the lead driver’s license and are collecting statements from motorists affected by the stunt.
  • The Munich 1 prosecutor’s office has opened a coercion in road traffic investigation and authorities cautioned that such maneuvers pose serious safety hazards on high-speed motorways.
