The signing follows the departure of Josey Jewell, who left the Broncos for a three-year contract with the Carolina Panthers.
Barton, 27, had a notable performance in 2023 with 121 tackles, including three for loss, and an interception in 13 games.
Previously, Barton played four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, where he achieved a career-high 136 tackles in 2022.
The Broncos aim to bolster their linebacker corps with Barton's addition, as they also navigate other free agency moves.
