Overview
- Coca-Cola alerted Costco members on June 2 that select 18-pack cases of 16.9-ounce Topo Chico glass bottles may contain Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- The recall covered products sold between May 20 and May 29 at Costco warehouses in Texas and Louisiana and other retailers across Arizona, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas
- All impacted bottles have been pulled from roughly 40 retail locations as part of the completed recall effort
- Health officials warn that while general public risk is very low, Pseudomonas aeruginosa can cause serious infections in people with weakened immune systems
- No illnesses have been linked to the recall and consumers are instructed to return affected packs to Costco for a full refund
