Coast Guard Sets Recruiting Record, Launches Search for Second Training Center

  • Minimum site requirements include 150–250 acres, lodging for 1,200 recruits, a 400‑seat dining facility, medical support for 1,000 personnel with at least 200 medical and 200 dental encounters daily, 14 classrooms, a six‑lane 25‑yard pool, an auditorium, a multipurpose gym, office space for 400 staff, and proximity to an airport within 30 miles.
  • All enlisted recruits will continue to train at Training Center Cape May in New Jersey until a new facility is established.
  • FY2025 efforts also included opening recruiting offices in Miami, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Long Island, Austin, Grand Rapids and Davenport, while the Coast Guard met officer and reserve goals with 371 new officers and 777 reservists.
