Coast Guard Delegation Continues Assam Rifles Visit in Agartala Under Affiliation Charter

Overview

• A 10-member Indian Coast Guard team is on a six-day program at Assam Rifles’ Kunjaban Garrison from December 22 to 27, with engagements ongoing on December 26.
• The delegation met Deputy Inspector General Brigadier Manish Rana of 21 Sector to discuss regional security and future collaboration.
• Members observed the Beating Retreat, toured the Agartala Integrated Check Post for a briefing on border management and trade, and visited local cultural sites including Ujjayanta Palace.
• On December 24, the group paid a courtesy call on Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Lok Bhavan in Agartala.
• The visit is conducted under the Charter of Affiliation linking the two forces and follows the commissioning of ICGS Amulya in Goa, a fast patrol vessel slated for basing at Paradip under Coast Guard Region (North East).
