Coachbuilt Rolls-Royce Corniche ‘Henry II’ Debuts as One-Off Shooting Brake With Hidden Bike Carrier

A two-and-a-half-year Dutch rebuild preserves heritage by reengineering the rear to house an electric two-bike system.

Overview

  • The project rebodies a 1981 Corniche long kept in the same family into a bespoke shooting brake nicknamed Henry II.
  • Design and engineering spanned 3D scans, CAD, a bare-metal strip, and hand-formed steel from the B-pillar back with a custom roof, tailgate, and bespoke glass.
  • To integrate the concealed carrier, the team relocated the fuel tank beneath the floor and fabricated a new rear subframe that integrates the tank and the electric mechanism.
  • The interior was fully restored with the original wood dashboard retained, new beige leather with green accents, olive carpeting, lambswool mats, and a hidden Brantz rally meter; the rear bench folds flat to extend the cargo area.
  • Finished in its original British Racing Green, the car retains its 6.75-liter V8 with no upgrades disclosed, and the owner plans to use it for rallies and transporting two triathlon bicycles.
