Co-Developer Reportedly Planning Tomb Raider II and III Remakes

A French outlet’s unverified report suggests Flying Wild Hog is already mapping out further remakes which, if true, would expand the franchise beyond the confirmed first reimagining.

Overview

  • A report published Aug. 31 by PSInsideFr and cited by multiple outlets says unnamed sources at Flying Wild Hog indicate remakes of Tomb Raider II and III are already planned.
  • The claim rests on anonymous internal sources and has not been confirmed by Flying Wild Hog, Crystal Dynamics, or publisher Amazon Games, so it should be treated as unverified reporting.
  • The only officially announced project remains Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a ground-up Unreal Engine 5 reimagining due to launch on February 12, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
  • Legacy of Atlantis adds modern systems such as an RPG-style skill tree, herb-based crafting and a Focus meter for slow-time acrobatics while keeping core 1996-era locations and puzzles.
  • Crystal Dynamics is also working on an original Tomb Raider title called Catalyst for 2027, and any II/III remakes reported would likely arrive years later and depend on internal strategy and Legacy of Atlantis’ reception.
