CNOOC Starts Production at Weizhou 11-4 Oilfield in Beibu Gulf

The 100%-owned project targets a 2026 plateau of about 16,900 boe/d.

Overview

  • The development sits in the Beibu Gulf Basin of the South China Sea at an average water depth of about 43 meters.
  • Facilities include a newly built unmanned wellhead platform and a central processing platform tied to an existing platform via a trestle bridge.
  • CNOOC plans to commission 35 wells, comprising 28 production wells and 7 water injection wells, during the ramp-up.
  • The project produces light crude, and output will be gathered through three offshore processing centers and an onshore terminal to support regional supply.
  • The on-stream milestone follows another CNOOC field start in the Pearl River Mouth basin a little over two months earlier.
