CNN Launches All Access Streaming Subscription in the U.S.

The service signals a shift to direct subscriptions to capture cord-cutters with CNN’s core live programming.

CNN’s new streaming subscription service, called All Access, pushes the network into the subscription era, attempting a distinctly New York Times-like pivot.

Overview

  • All Access is available now in CNN apps and on the web for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, with a $41.99 first-year introductory annual price.
  • The offering mirrors the U.S. linear schedule roughly from 5 a.m. to midnight ET, adds multiple live feeds and CNN International hours, and includes an on-demand library.
  • New digital-native programming features Anderson Cooper’s All There Is Live debuting Oct. 30, The Enten Scale with Harry Enten, Devoted with Donie O’Sullivan, and 5 Things With Kate Bolduan.
  • Pay-TV subscribers can authenticate to stream on major connected-TV platforms including Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, and LG, while the $3.99 articles tier continues as Basic.
  • CNN’s live stream will leave HBO Max in the U.S. on Nov. 17 as distribution consolidates under All Access, with executives planning phased international expansion.
