CNN considers former NYT and BBC chief Mark Thompson to lead network

CNN is looking at Mark Thompson, ex-CEO of NY Times and BBC, as potential new leader.
Thompson oversaw NY Times transition from print to digital before leaving in 2020.
He began career at BBC, eventually becoming director general.
Search comes after former CNN head Chris Licht departed in June.
Licht faced criticism over decisions including airing Trump town hall.
