Overview
- Publication in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on September 22 formalized the CNBV resolution adopted on September 19, barring CAME from operating and placing it in dissolution and liquidation.
- PROSOFIPO activated the guaranteed obligations payment, giving depositors 180 calendar days from the DOF notice to file claims up to 25,000 UDIS, roughly 213,000–219,000 pesos at current values.
- CNBV said 99.5% of depositors—169,564 of 170,414—will recover funds through the scheme, with about 850 above the coverage cap, and payouts will be financed by PROSOFIPO rather than the federal budget.
- Claims can be filed via www.fondodeproteccion.mx or at the CAME office in Iztapalapa (Atanasio G. Sarabia 1565) with identification, proof of deposits and contact details; any debts to CAME will be netted against the payout.
- The liquidator will review each claim within 15 business days, the Protection Committee will validate within 20 business days, and approved payments will be issued within 80 natural days after validation, following capital shortfall and accounting irregularities that led to a June intervention at NICAP Category 4.
