Overview

  • The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety started inspecting the 19.15 km Yellow Line between RV Road and Bommasandra on July 22, with the audit report expected within a week.
  • Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited will address any CMRS conditions before launching limited passenger services in early to mid-August.
  • BMRCL’s chosen phased rollout will initially deploy three trains at 20–25 minute headways across the full 16-station stretch.
  • A fourth train is slated to arrive by August 10 and will undergo roughly two weeks of testing prior to entering service.
  • Prolonged delays were driven by CRRC’s local manufacturing shortfall, IndiaChina border tensions, FDI constraints and Covid disruptions, leading to a Titagarh Rail Systems partnership for coach supply.
