CME to List Cardano, Chainlink and Stellar Futures on Feb. 9

Regulatory clearance from the CFTC remains the final step for the cash-settled contracts.

Overview

  • The new listings await CFTC approval and will be available in both full-size and micro formats on CME’s regulated platform.
  • Contract sizes are set at 100,000 ADA with a 10,000-ADA micro, 5,000 LINK with a 250-LINK micro, and 250,000 XLM with a 12,500-XLM micro.
  • All contracts are cash-settled, giving institutions and smaller traders a capital-efficient way to gain exposure or hedge without holding tokens.
  • CME cites strong client demand following 2025 crypto derivatives growth of 139%, with average daily volume of 278,300 contracts and record open interest of 313,900.
  • The Chainlink addition comes a day after Bitwise launched a Chainlink spot ETF on NYSE Arca, underscoring growing market infrastructure for the token.
