- The November 21 total surpassed the prior single-day peak of 728,475 contracts set on August 22, 2025.
- CME’s micro suite also set a record with 676,088 contracts, including a Micro Bitcoin record of 210,347.
- Year to date, average daily volume reached 270,900 contracts, up 132% year over year, with average open interest at 299,700, up 82%.
- In the fourth quarter through November, ADV rose to 403,200 contracts, up 106% versus Q4 2024, and average OI climbed to 493,700, up 117%.
- CME cited accelerating demand for regulated crypto risk-management tools from institutions and retail traders, as derivatives activity coincided with reported outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs.
