Overview

• Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced the Prime Minister’s Sept. 13 inauguration at Sairang, with a Sept. 12 arrival in Aizawl, while officials note PMO confirmation is still awaited.
• The Commissioner of Railway Safety inspected the route in June and authorised Northeast Frontier Railway to operate both passenger and freight services.
• NFR says initial services will roll out this month with one or two diesel-hauled trains, and electrification is planned in a later phase.
