Overview
- At the WWE–AAA Worlds Collide show in Chicago, CM Punk made his AAA debut and entered to Killswitch Engage’s “This Fire Burns,” his longtime WWE theme.
- Fightful reported that Punk teamed with Rey Mysterio and AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano to win the Trios match at the Allstate Arena.
- WWE did not air the Worlds Collide show live but announced plans to post a replay on its YouTube channel later this week.
- Earlier in the same week Punk qualified for the 2026 Money in the Bank ladder match by defeating Finn Balor and Gunther.
- Punk’s theme return tapped strong fan nostalgia, highlighted his recent competitive momentum, and reminded observers that a 2026 MITB victory would add to his prior MITB successes and could make him the oldest winner of the match.
