Overview

• Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reviewed progress of rainwater harvesting wells at 141 identified flood-prone sites and directed officials to install automatic pumps to expedite water removal.
• He ordered acceleration of desilting operations in stormwater drains and instructed officials to prepare detailed contingency plans for high-risk zones before the monsoon arrives.
• A real-time flood-monitoring center is to be established at the Integrated Command and Control Centre to track rainfall intensity and drainage status across the city.
• GHMC, police, traffic police and HYDRAA have been told to coordinate closely and maintain round-the-clock emergency teams throughout the monsoon season.
• The government proposed a policy for developing lakes, nalas and roads within the core urban region inside the Outer Ring Road to strengthen urban water management.
