• A 48-year-old man from Cloverdale was formally charged with murder today and is due to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
• Elmars Kalejs was found unconscious beside his car in a Bedfordale car park on April 18 and later died at Royal Perth Hospital on June 24.
• WA Police Homicide Squad detectives reclassified the incident as a homicide on July 29 and carried out specialist forensic examinations.
• Investigators released CCTV in late July to trace Mr Kalejs’s movements and appealed to the public for information on the lead-up to his injuries.
• Authorities have stated there is no known ongoing risk to the community and Mr Kalejs’s family has sought closure through the inquiry.
