Overview

• Uttarakhand reported 15 fatalities, including 13 in Dehradun, with 16 people missing as NDRF and SDRF teams evacuated more than 900 from stranded locations.
• Dehradun recorded severe infrastructure damage with 13 bridges, 10 culverts and 21 roads hit, the Dehradun–Mussoorie route was breached, and roughly 3,000 tourists were left stuck in the hill town.
• The Tons (Tamsa) river flooded Dehradun’s Tapkeshwar temple and rescuers moved 400–500 students to safety from the Devbhoomi Institute after campus flooding.
• Himachal Pradesh logged new rain fatalities in Mandi — three in a house collapse and two swept away — as flash floods submerged Dharampur bus stand; the state’s monsoon death toll stands at 417.
• The IMD attributed the deluge to interacting wind systems and warned of continued rain in the near term, as Maharashtra separately reported 19.5 lakh hectares of kharif crops impacted and over 400 people rescued.
