Clément Hervieu-Léger Appointed Administrator of the Comédie-Française

The actor and director will succeed Éric Ruf in August, tasked with expanding the repertoire and reaching new audiences.

Clément Hervieu-Léger, a member of the Comédie-Française since 2005 and sociétaire since 2018, has been named its new administrator.
He will begin his five-year term in August 2025, following the conclusion of Éric Ruf’s third mandate, which began in 2014.
Hervieu-Léger’s responsibilities will include broadening the institution’s repertoire to include both contemporary and lesser-known works.
He is also charged with enhancing accessibility through youth outreach, cultural inclusion initiatives, and expanding touring and audiovisual efforts.
Significant renovations, including energy-efficient upgrades to the Comédie-Française’s facilities, are also part of his mandate.
