Climber Dies in Fall at Wyoming's Devils Tower, Partner Rescued

Porter was rappelling the second pitch of the El Cracko Diablo route when he fell and sustained major injuries, leading to his death at the scene.
Porter's climbing partner was stranded on the tower but was rescued unharmed by local climbing guides.
This incident marks the seventh climbing death in the 118-year history of Devils Tower National Monument.
The Park Service is investigating the cause of the fall and emphasized that while climbing fatalities at Devils Tower are rare, the activity remains inherently dangerous.
