Cleveland Police Issue Appeals in Two Hartlepool Sexual Offence Cases Involving Children

Public recordings now underpin the enquiries after police reported no access to bus footage.

Overview

  • Officers are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a teenage girl who rode the 3/3A bus in Hartlepool on July 23, 2024, reported to police earlier this month.
  • Police say they cannot obtain onboard footage from the bus and are asking anyone who was on the route or recognises the described suspect to come forward.
  • The bus suspect is described as a white man in his mid to late 50s, chubby build, short black‑greying hair, a brown beard with grey, wearing a light green T‑shirt with a logo, black shorts and white trainers.
  • A separate appeal concerns an attempted sexual assault of a 12‑year‑old on Warren Road at about 5pm on October 13, 2025, after which the suspect ran towards Winterbottom Avenue.
  • The Warren Road suspect is described as a white male aged 30–40 with buzz‑cut blonde hair, clean‑shaven, wearing a camouflage‑style coat, and police urge witnesses, including drivers with dash‑cam, to share footage using reference numbers 192804 and 196815.
