- Amaira, a nine-year-old Class 4 student, died after jumping from the fourth floor of Neerja Modi School on November 1, 2025.
- CBSE and a state education probe found the girl was bullied for about 18 months and identified teacher negligence, structural safety lapses and absence of psychological support.
- The police filed a chargesheet on July 1 that named the class teacher, principal and school owner while applying stricter Juvenile Justice provisions to the teacher and lesser Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections to senior officials.
- The family released classroom CCTV on July 9 that they say shows Amaira repeatedly seeking the teacher’s help, leaving the room unimpeded and travelling to the fourth floor without staff stopping her, and they have moved the High Court to seek additional charges including abetment.
