Claire Hanna Poised to Lead SDLP

Unopposed candidacy sets stage for October ratification at party conference

Claire Hanna is the sole candidate for the SDLP leadership after nominations closed.
Outgoing leader Colum Eastwood and Stormont leader Matthew O'Toole endorse Hanna.
Hanna, 44, has extensive experience within the party and aims to rejuvenate its fortunes.
The SDLP currently holds two MP seats, eight MLA positions, and 59 council seats.
Hanna will be the second woman to lead the party, following Margaret Ritchie.
