Civilization VII Developers Prioritize Quality-of-Life Updates Over Events

Firaxis Games outlines significant gameplay and UI improvements for March updates, addressing player concerns and introducing new features.

Firaxis Games has postponed Civilization VII's first in-game event, 'Natural Wonder Battle,' to focus on quality-of-life improvements.
The March 4th Update 1.1.0 will introduce cross-play, UI enhancements, AI improvements, and new content, including the Bermuda Triangle natural wonder and part of the Crossroads of the World DLC pack.
Update 1.1.1, scheduled for March 25th, will further refine the UI, reduce aggressive AI settling, reintroduce features like quick move, and add new customization options for commanders and cities.
Upcoming updates will also address long-term player requests, such as the ability to continue playing beyond the Modern Age, expanded modding tools, and support for new map sizes.
Player feedback has driven these changes as Firaxis aims to improve Civilization VII's mixed reception and rebuild its standing in the strategy game genre.
