Privates Philip Shadrach and George Wilson inducted into Hall of Heroes for daring 1862 mission

President Biden presented the medals in a White House ceremony, correcting a historical oversight.
Shadrach and Wilson were part of Andrews' Raiders, a group that hijacked a Confederate train to disrupt supply lines.
Their mission, known as The Great Locomotive Chase, aimed to aid Union forces in capturing Chattanooga.
Both soldiers were captured and executed by Confederate forces, but their bravery was long remembered.
Descendants of Shadrach and Wilson accepted the medals on their behalf at the ceremony.
