Cityside Park, Treasure Island’s First Major Park, Opens

The six-acre waterfront space signals a new phase of Treasure Island’s redevelopment.

Overview

  • Mayor Daniel Lurie led a ribbon-cutting to officially open the six-acre Cityside Park to the public.
  • The park is slated to grow by roughly 18 additional acres over time, creating a continuous greenway along the island’s west side.
  • Weekly Off the Grid food-truck markets launched at the park and will run Saturdays through November 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Landscape features include stormwater gardens that retain and naturally biofilter runoff before it reaches San Francisco Bay.
  • Treasure Island’s broader buildout continues, with about 1,000 homes completed toward a plan for roughly 8,000 residences and approximately 300 acres of open space.
