Citroën Unveils ELO, a Modular Electric Concept Reimagining Compact Space for Living, Work and Play

Citroën presents a design laboratory concept slated for a Brussels debut in January.

Overview

  • The ELO is a fully electric, single-box study with a six-seat layout, a center-mounted driver position, and a 1.92 m wide sliding-door opening in a 4.10 m footprint.
  • Its cabin converts for travel, rest and leisure with removable and swiveling seats, two inflatable mattresses, and a drop-down screen for a theater-like setup.
  • Outdoor-focused utilities include a built-in compressor, vehicle-to-load power, door hooks for an awning, and seats that detach to become chairs, with storage solutions co-developed with Decathlon.
  • Citroën highlights durable, lower-impact materials such as expanded polypropylene, repurposed felt and water- and wear-resistant seat covers designed for easy cleaning.
  • The company positions ELO as a non-production ideas lab with an urban focus and undisclosed powertrain specs, while French outlet L’Argus reports it could influence a subcompact model reportedly targeted for 2028.
