Court orders limiting Plaster of Paris idols to artificial ponds are driving large civic deployments and waste-to-compost operations across major cities.

  • Bengaluru logged 73,959 immersions on Thursday after 79,039 on Wednesday, using 41 water bodies and 489 mobile tankers to handle the flow.
  • Hyderabad prepared 74 artificial ponds alongside 20 major lakes, deploying 14,486 sanitation staff, 134 static cranes, 269 mobile cranes, 16 DRF teams and 200 swimmers.
