Citi Appoints Tim Ryan to Lead Data Quality Overhaul

Ryan will work alongside COO Anand Selva to address longstanding data management issues flagged by regulators.

Tim Ryan, formerly of PwC, joined Citi in June and will now oversee the bank's data quality improvement team.
Ryan will work with COO Anand Selva, who continues to lead Citi's broader risk management and control remediation efforts.
Citi has been fined $136 million for inadequate progress on data management issues identified in 2020.
Ashutosh Nawani, head of enterprise risk management, will join Ryan's team as head of the enterprise data office and data transformation.
Citi has significantly increased its investment in data quality, with a head count for the transformation program rising from 3,000 to 12,000 since 2021.
