Overview

• Launched in 2023 after a directive from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CISF’s Fire Service Training Institute in Hyderabad ran 11 batches in 2023-24, training 274 personnel from 113 cities.
• Four of five additional 2025 batches have upskilled 106 firefighters from 46 cities across 10 states.
• The curriculum emphasizes urban and industrial firefighting techniques, disaster management skills and preparedness for CBRN emergencies.
• To date, the program has elevated the skills of state firefighters representing 150 cities in 22 states and union territories.
• The fifth session kicks off on August 25 and CISF is ready to add more slots for state-nominated participants.
