Overview

• The intake includes a record 179 women, marking the force’s biggest single recruitment of female athletes.
• Over 14,000 applications were received with about 10,000 candidates attending trials at 16 centres such as Guwahati, Chandigarh and Bhopal.
• All inductees are national-level medallists, including 18 international gold medallists and 56 national gold medallists.
• More than 75% of the recruits are aged 18–22, reflecting a focus on early talent identification.
• The athletes will form 34 new teams across disciplines like archery, lawn tennis, badminton and cycling, with representation from 23 states and six Union Territories.
